Mouse 'n' Cheese COB

Okay, ready for a story?
Here I go:

When the Shee lived in Albia they found that one of the greatest
problems they had with messy Norns is that they often would vend
repeatedly pieces of cheese (remember this was a thousand years ago,
when the Norns were very much into using verndors at their own free
will;o) There were of course many cheese vendors back then, and as a
result of which, those naughty Norns would often push them just for the
fun of it...
The problem with cheese is of course it doesn't decompose like the
fruits and roots that grow naturally in Albia, so these pieces of
cheese would sit there, doing nothing - except for piling up - until
someone would come along and eat them, but Albia was rapidly filling
up with pieces of uneaten cheese.
The Shee had to come with a way to solve this problem. Of course, being
the Shee, they didn't think of taking away a few vendors, so they sat
there amongst the cheese, thinking, thinking, thinking...(Unfortunately
for them they didn't realise what a delightful thing a cheese and fruit
platter was..Which is a pity because there really was an amazing amount
of tasty fruit in Albia back then, even more than now. Not to mention
the cheese varieties!)

Anyway, while the Shee were thinking, a little Ettin came up to them
with a crudely made object,
"Dut," said the Ettin (who was a baby worker Ettin called Bob) as he put
the object, which turned out to be a mechanical mouse, in front of them.
"Bob Em dut" (which was Bob's way of saying 'Bob Push critter', the
Shee hadn't got around to teaching him any words yet..) the Shee 
watched in amazement as the little mechanical critter whirred into life
and began to wobble around. When it came up to a piece of cheese,
"Chomp!" 
The Shee were surprised! But they were also extremely glad that little 
Bob had come up with a way of keeping down the amount of cheese in Albia.

As a reward for making the mechanical mouse-critter, the Shee gave Bob
